Wendy Schilling-Delouche is the owner and designer of Ella Clair Handbags, a collection of luxury clear handbags. For nearly 15 years, she worked as a Motion Picture Costumer. Producers and celebrities counted on her to help bring characters to life with the right clothes, purses, accessories, and props. If you’ve watched Maze Runner: The Death Cure, Star Trek: Beyond, Fast and Furious, or the comedy series Key & Peel, you can imagine the thought and attention to detail that Wendy put into every scene.
She met her husband, Guillaume, a film Prop-Master, originally from France while on the set of the motion picture “Dreamer,” and it didn’t take long for their love story to bloom. Now, they have two young daughters, Alice and Ella.
Though Wendy loved her Film career, she loves her girls more. Being on the set from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for three months to a year straight on every production took an emotional toll. She pined for time with her girls, enjoying the simple things like coaching their soccer games, eating meals together, and raising them to be strong women.
How could she keep her creative juices flowing and still be there as a mother? Like the competitive soccer days of her youth, Wendy looked for opportunities and took her best shot. With Guillaume cheering from the sidelines, she launched Ella Clair LA with a collection of luxury clear handbags.
Now, she’s embracing this new season of life. Being home with her girls, creating luxurious classic clear handbags with a modern twist, and making them here in the U.S. feels right. While well-known luxury brands are resorting to cheap materials, she’s keeping her standards high by using genuine leather, carbon-fiber, substantive silver or gold hardware and only materials of the highest quality. Some day everyone will know Ella Clair. Until then, Wendy knows she does her best work behind the scenes.
